Let's Begin

Well, no more excuses. It is time to begin thinking about the 2011 Conference. It's less than a year away you know. It is our 35th year and I want it to be special and memorable for everyone-a lot of pressure, whew! I had a great response for committee members and I know they will help me do a great job. Let me know what you, as a member, want to see at the next conference. I am all EARS!

  1. Great job Amy! I would be happy to put together a slide show of the past 35 years! I would need help collecting the images. Anyone have any thoughts on this??

  2. Jamie I would contact Larry Hill about images and history. He should have this information as the IACCA Historian.

  4. Our first face to face meeting for the Conference Planning Committee will take place next month (March). We will tour Blue Ridge, our next conference destination, and put together our agenda of speakers and workshops. I have heard from a couple of you about things you would like to see at the conference but I would like to hear from all of you.

  5. To me the main thing that I would like to see is at least an hour or more general session where it is open question and answer about anything.. Once the questions get flowing then people open up. Maybe have 3-5 people hosting it but the members should just open up and ask.
But basically keep up with the hands on specific areas of conference center issues such as staffing for small and large events, how u feed a group of 10-30 in a cost effective manner vs the easier groups of 100-300 etc. Other topics, hospitality, using volunteers to their best ability, thinking outside the box for meeting space at your site etc.
But your conference is by far the best ones i have been to including our own religion annual camp conference. Thanks
